Review: Garnier BB cream

Finally the review is up! I have been wanting to review this for a long time and finally got it thanks to Pakistani Beauty Bloggers Community (PBBC). Thankyou so much for sending in this sample for trial!
Ever since the BB cream craze had started, I had been dying to get my hands on one of these BB creams and find out what this hype is all about. Especially the Garnier BB cream as I had read so many positive reviews.

When I got this little package I was completely overwhelmed that PBBC gave me a chance to review this! I was so excited as it was the first time I had recieved a package by mail :P I opened it up instantly!

I recieved it nicely packed in a courier box and a big I<3BB paper bag was inside, with the cream inside obviously! Loved the cute bag <3 So let's move on to the review!

A BB cream is basically a moisturiser but tinted. You know how a moisturiser is designed to help and fix the problems of your skin? e.g skin discoloration, blemishes, dehydration. So a BB cream not only helps in fixing skin problems, but it acts as a foundation as well that helps in concealing and covering up. In other words, if you mix together a moisturiser and a foundation, voila! you have a BB cream :P

Garnier says it's a Miracle Skin Perfector which would help with the following problems:

1) Discoloration
2) Dullness
3) Blotchiness and dryness
4) Dehyrdation of skin
5) Sun protection (SPF 15)

My thoughts:

When I opened it the mixture is creamy and smooth and blends into the skin perfectly. The shade of the cream matches my skin complexion so thats a yeay! This was in shade "Light". They have 2 shades available, Light and Medium, but the shade Light is designed for Asian skin like ours!

Not much of a difference right? Yep, that's what I thought too.

Let's take it one by one:

1) It does even out skin tone, as you can see in the picture above. But it doesn't give the kind of coverage a foundation would give you. Just a light coverage, but that's good for me because I don't normally like to put on so much foundation, just enough to give a natural look.
2) It does help with the dullness, it give a nice glowy, dewy, effect. It contains Vitamin C so it has antioxidant properties and helps in giving a radiant look! Although I would not recommend it for oily skin as it does get too oily! I prefer a matte look, so I like to apply a face-powder on top.
3) I have been using this product almost everyday for 2 weeks now, and it has helped with my dryness around the nose! It does keep my skin soft and hydrated!
4) It does have SPF(15) so I don't have to apply that, instead I would just use this! :D

 I rate it a 3/5!

Pros:
- Affordable compared to the other BB creams available.
- Helps in giving a dewy look.
- Moisturises skin
- Blends beautifully into the skin

Cons:
- Too oily for my skin type (combination skin)
- Doesn't give proper coverage, very light coverage. Enough to even out skin tone, but not hide any blemishes.

Well well, I would not recommend buying this for those who have oily or a combination of skin type. I would love to try this again during the winters! I've a feeling this oily problem would go away in winters.

I was a tiny bit disappointed with this product, as I LOVE Garnier, and I have been using quite a few of their products and was very satisfied with them all. I had heard so much about it and all had great reviews, I don't know why it didn't do the trick for me :( If you have had a different experience with this, do let me know!

Once again a big THANKYOU to Pakistani Beauty Bloggers Community for sending in this sample!
You can buy this product anywhere for just Rs.399! It is also available at my favourite online shopping store : Just4girls

Love you all!

    1. Yes I found that when you leave the tube in the heat, you have to shake it first or it would come out all watery and bleh. I would suggest keeping it in a cool place.

  9. You're absolutely right! This one won't suit combo/oily skin. You should checkout the slim one (the oil-free version). It's much better! :)

  12. Hey naimal great review. however, I dont get why my face in pictures taken in flash looks unusually fair when I have applied this bb cream :\

    1. Yep tht's the sme for me, whenever i take a pic in flash, my skin look weirdly-fair! That just means your foundation is a bit lighter that your actual skin tone. Try it out with a little darker shade, and set with a powder!

  13. I researched though and discovered that it's because of the titanium dioxide in this bb cream which provdes the spf thingy :(
