Maybelline New York - Pakistan's Bloggers Meetup!

Good day ladies!
I hope you're having a great time because I had a wonderful time at the Bloggers meetup held by Maybelline New York!
And I'm going to share this experience with you! ^.^

So as soon as I was invited, my mind was put to work! I was thrilled and so excited as this was the first time I was going to a Bloggers meetup. I started thinking, hmm what clothes should I wear? Jeans with the blue blouse I have? No, the green one, naah not that. Heels? Flats? Should I curl my hair or straighten it? Well, you know how that goes :P

Well I decided to go with a peachy jumpsuit to sort of represent my blog, you know to look professional and all (actually the peach jumpsuit was just a matter of coincidence :P ).

Anyway, having parents who are extremely time punctual, I just had to be there 10 minutes early! Yep, I was pretty excited! It took some time for the rest of the bloggers to show up, but eventually they did :P

We had a beautiful host, Hina Saleem, from Maybelline New York, who instantly introduced us all and got us to mingle since some of us hadn't met each other, well I was meeting them all for the first time :P
I met the lovely and ever so cheerful, Nida Moughal from GlitterSmitter5, the multi-talented, Maliha Rao from Red Rao Alice, the gorgeous Sidrah Nayyer from Beauteous Blog and the well-known Rabeeyah Tungekar from Rabeeyah's Blog. Do check out their blogs, they're all super talented!

We had a nice chit-chat about our blogs before the show kicked off! We were asked to be seated in a sort of a conference room that was beautifully decorated all related to the re-launch of Maybelline New York's Color Show Range. The table was set up with all sort of fun nail-goodies! Nail colors, brushes, makeup removers, you name it, it was all there!

They have divided their yummy colors in sets of 5!

And my two personal favourite, the Miss Gem and Miss Neon collection!

We were first given an intro on the company, Maybelline New York, itself.

The video they had showed really caught all of our attention! It had so much going on, photoshoots, and makeup, and nail art! It really showed how Maybelline New York is the edgy brand!

We were then introduced to a nail-expert! She works at the famous Mirror Salon and Spa of Karachi as a professional nail-expert, and she has been in this business for a long time. Maliha Rao volunteered for a demo, that lucky lucky girl! Below is the look that she created. A simple and elegant look! A few coats of "Winter baby" if i remember correctly, a white-ish shade, on all fingers. On the ring finger she just applied  one coat of the white shade and then used a baby/pastel blue to create a fish scale effect! Sorry I don't remember the name of that shade! :( Doesn't it look so fresh and simple? But trust me, it was tough :P

Once the demo was done, they showed us another video of how to create a nail-art look as it was done on the models of the famous Mercedes Benz Fashion Show. We were asked to copy that look and add our own touch to it! Yeaay the fun part!

More pictures of us, busy busy. It was tough for me to create the look since I have short nails! Oh how I wish I wasn't a nail-biter :(

Below is Maliha with her masterpiece!
Isn't that really good? She's a natural at it!

Finally, all done! Below are the eye-catching colors with our pieces of art.
Posing for a picture, say cheese!
Unfortunately, Sidrah had to leave so she couldnt model next to the Color Show stand with us :(

Overall it was an experience I will not forget. This was the first time I attended such an event, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Yes I was a bit nervous at first as I had no idea what this was going to be like, and I had no idea who I will be meeting, but they were all so friendly that eventually I got comfortable!

We were served some delicious refreshments and on our way out we got goodieees! :D

We were given a small pouch and when I opened it, my favourite part, my name was printed on it! :D I don't know why I got so excited to see that :P

The pouch contained a nail buffer, a brush, golden glitter, scissors, and a CD that had another fun nail-art tutorial!

Apart from that I got 3 nail colors that I could pick myself! :D

I chose Candy Apple, Electric Pink and Urban Turquoise! Such pretty and fun colors, no?

I hve reviewed these nail polishes here:

  7. I've tried the colorama polish in midnight taupe (I think) and wasn't very impressed with the formula but the candy collection looks drool worthy! Could you possibly review the express remover too? Your hair looks fantastic here by the way! - Sarah A.

    2. Chipping wasn't the issue, the application was a bit dodgy for me but that could be for that particular shade. Tutorial on your fab hairstyle pretty please? - Sarah A.
